7.5, 15 & 22.5 hr. options

P-FLEX:  Choose Any 3 Days To Make Your Own 22.5 Hour Conference

In offering six conference days in 2024 spread over four weekends, we provided the P-FLEX system for registering for the days singly, so that you could choose ANY THREE of the six to make a custom package giving you 22.5 educational hours.   This has been helpful to persons needing 20 continuing education hours for purposes such as Lifestyle Medicine Diplomate credentialing or annual board maintenance requirements for certain healthcare fields.

Only two of six days remain (Sept. 29 and Oct. 6 Virtual Summits), available together or separately, and certainly combinable with any offerings already completed by you earlier in 2024, to help meet requirements you may have.

How the P-FLEX program was laid out this year:

  • Each day provided 7.5 educational hours, thus any three provided 22.5.

  • None of the six possible days have been on weekdays, all have been on Saturday or Sunday.

  • Four of the six days have been Sundays, allowing an all-Sundays package.

  • All three-day choices at P-POD are approved automatically by ABLM/ACLM as satisfying their 20-hour event CME prerequisite for Diplomate credentialing, thus allowing schedule flexibility for candidates.  See info.

P-POD assumes it has permission to utilize, for promotional and educational purposes, photographic images of the conference proceedings and incidental audience presence, unless prior written notification is received from individual attendees that such permission is withheld with regard to them.

Cancellation

A cancellation could always be an opportunity to exercise extraordinary generosity and donate your payments to the P-POD Scholarship Fund.

2023-ONWARD CHANGE for persons paying registration with a credit/debit card:  The card processor Square announced that for 2023 it will NO LONGER refund the FEES it originally charged, when full or partial amounts get refunded.  This means that, for any P-POD cash refund amount that is allowed via the rules below, 2.9% + 30 cents of that refund can never be paid to you, because P-POD can never get the money back from Square.  E.g. a $90 refund becomes $87.  It's offensive, but we're stuck with it.

Any cancellation that results from your own illness or that of your immediate family members, or from action by a government to prevent your travel, will allow you these options:
applying toward any future P-POD event, all payments we received;  or
in the case of your in-person event registration, applying your payments toward a virtual registration for the same event, and either applying the remainder toward any future P-POD event or refunding the difference;  or
if notice is received more than 8 days before the conference you registered for, receiving full refunds without any cancellation fee.

A cancellation for any other reason, requested 45 days or more prior to the conference you registered for, will allow you these options:
applying toward any future P-POD event, all payments we received;  or
in the case of your in-person event registration, applying your payments toward a virtual registration for the same event, and either applying the remainder toward any future P-POD event or refunding the difference;  or
receiving a refund of all payments we received, minus $45 which will go into the P-POD Scholarship Fund.

A cancellation for any other reason, requested less than 45 days but more than 8 days prior to the conference you registered for, will allow you these options:
in the case of your in-person event registration, applying your payments toward the equivalent virtual registration for the same event, without refund or crediting of any remainder;  or
in the case of your in-person event registration, refunding 35% of the total amounts paid, or else applying 70% of the total paid toward any future P-POD event (with remainders going to the P-POD Scholarship Fund);  or
in the case of your virtual event registration, refunding 50% of the total amounts paid, or else applying 90% of the total paid toward any future P-POD event (with remainders going to the P-POD Scholarship Fund).

A cancellation for any other reason, requested 8 days or less prior to the conference you registered for, will allow you this option:
applying toward any other P-POD event, 1/3rd of all payments we received, with the remainder going to the P-POD Scholarship Fund.

Scholarships

We're pleased to be continuing our scholarship program that was launched in 2019.  A small number of full registration-fee-only scholarships will be awarded in the coming months for all of the 2024 P-POD Conferences.  [Please note also that various opportunities for volunteer participation do come up throughout the year.  If interested, please see our Volunteer page, which will soon be updated to be specific to the details, needs and schedules of our 2024 conferences.]

YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO BE CONSIDERED IF:
(1) You have not yet registered for the conference you're interested in.
(2) You have a good reason for attending P-POD.
(3) You can demonstrate financial need that is an obstacle to your attendance.
(4) You have not received a P-POD scholarship in the past.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION TIMELINE:
(1) Our 2024 scholarship application is at scholarship.p-pod.org.  You must DOWNLOAD it to complete it.  You do not type on it online.  It contains instructions for submitting it.

(2) The deadline dates for applying are specific to the conference being applied for:
**September 7-8 virtual:  due Monday, August 5
**September 29 Virtual Summit:  due Tuesday, August 27
**October 6 Virtual Summit:  due Wednesday, September 11

(3) Scholarship applicants will be notified of our action within three weeks of applying, but everyone will be notified by one week after the final application deadline noted above.

(4) Award recipients must accept or decline the offer within one week of its being made.  If you are applying for an in-person conference and live outside its local area, then the scholarship will be considered confirmed and final when you provide confirmation that you have made travel and housing arrangements for attending.  If confirmation is not received in one week we will transfer the award to another qualified applicant.
